Biography

Sequoia L. Rutan is an associate attorney with a practice in business formation, real estate, mergers and acquisitions, and commercial and business litigation.

Sequoia is committed to delivering exceptional client service by developing strategic solutions that provide substantial value and advance client goals. She works to gain a deep understanding of a client’s goals, business, and values to deliver the best possible outcome. Leveraging her strong organization skills and analytical mindset, Sequoia advises clients on complex legal matters, such as governance structure, litigation strategy, commercial transactions, and general contract matters. Sequoia’s ultimate goal is to ensure that clients feel a sense of satisfaction and success from working together.

After receiving her undergraduate degree in Political Science and International Studies from Macalester College, Sequoia received her J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School, where she served as the Senior Managing Editor of the Wisconsin International Law Journal. After law school, Sequoia served as a law clerk for the Honorable Sara R. Grewing in the Second Judicial District of Minnesota.

Sequoia and her husband live in Saint Paul, MN. A native New Yorker, Sequoia enjoys spending her free time searching for the perfect bagel. She also enjoys trying new bakeries, baking, and reading.
