Trenton K. Seegert
Trenton K. Seegert is an associate attorney at Madigan, Dahl & Harlan, P.A., having joined the firm in January of 2024. Trenton focuses his practice on intellectual property law, business organization, and mergers and acquisitions. He helps entrepreneurs and small businesses realize their corporate objectives and create endeavors by advising them on corporate and intellectual property issues. Trenton also regularly works with clients on a variety of real property, contract, and employment law matters. With a background in economics, Trenton approaches each client problem with efficiency to develop an effective and tailored solution.
Trenton received a Juris Doctor degree from Mitchell Hamline School of Law in May of 2022. While at Mitchell Hamline, he was a United State Patent and Trademark Office certified student attorney. In that capacity, he helped clients file applications for and maintain their federal trademark registrations. Trenton also had the opportunity to work with several clients to obtain and maintain federal copyright protection for their creative materials. Trenton had the honor of being the Editor-in-Chief of Cybaris® an Intellectual Property Law Review, an associate of the Mitchell Hamline Journal of Public Policy & Practice, and President of the Mitchell Hamline Sports and Entertainment Law Society. Throughout law school, Trenton clerked for a boutique intellectual property law firm, a business law firm, and helped his law school mentor and professor with legal research and publication in the field of intellectual property law, including trademark, copyright, trade secrets, and the Freedom of Information Act.
Prior to attending law school, Trenton earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Communication Sciences at the University of Wisconsin—Madison. In addition to his coursework, Trenton managed the campaign finances for a candidate running for a sear on the Wisconsin Supreme Court, conducted international tax law research as a research assistant for a professor at the University of Utah-SJ Quinney School of Law, and guided pro se litigants through family law issues as the Program Coordinator of the Portage County, Wisconsin JusticeWorks, Inc. Family Law and Information Center.
Outside of the office, Trenton enjoys time with his family, is an avid Badger and Packer fan, and continues to curl, sail, and play the cello, tennis, and pickleball.
